This training will give you an overview of why Future Frontiers exists, our solution to address this problem and your role as a volunteer coach as part of this. You will also learn more about the students that Future Frontiers works with and what stage they're at in their education.

Future Frontiers is committed to safeguarding and promotion the welfare of the children and young people we work with. This compulsory training will help you to understand what safeguarding is and your safeguarding responsibilities whilst volunteering on the programme.

Total time needed: 25 minutes

This training will give you a brief insight into how EDI specifically relates to our Year 10 programme, including what Future Frontiers’ responsibility as an organisation is, our desired culture and expectations, and actionable steps for volunteers during the programme. 

Total time needed: 12 minutes

The PDF version of the pupil handbook is your primary resource for every session. Read through it to prepare for each session, support your student to complete it during sessions and use it for survey and website links.

In this course, you can also find step by step session guidance, and tips for engaging your student, working with two students, and if your student misses a session.

This section aims to answer all of our most frequently asked questions by coaching about the Future Frontiers coaching programme. 

This course explains everything coaches need to know about completing an Enhanced DBS Check through us at Future Frontiers. This course will offer guidance from onset through to completion, acknowledging all possible routes coaches can take. There are 3 sections of this module;

  • Completing your ACEVO application
  • Completing your ID check using the digital method 
  • Completing your ID check using the manual method
  • DBS FAQs

By the end of the course, you should have a completed DBS application ready to be submitted to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
